WORDPRESS APPLICATION PASSWORD GUIDE
An Application Password is a secure way to connect external tools (like our publishing tool) to your WordPress site without sharing your main login password. It acts as a separate, specific password for a particular application.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Step 1: Log in to WordPress
Use your username and password to log in to your WordPress administration page (Dashboard).
- Step 2: Go to Your Profile page
On the left-hand menu, hover over **Users** and select **Profile**.
- Step 3: Find the Application Passwords section
Scroll to the bottom of the page. You will see a section titled **Application Passwords**.
- Step 4: Name and Create the password
Enter a name for this password (e.g., "Publishing Tool") in the empty field and click the **Add New Application Password** button.
- Step 5: Copy the Application Password
After clicking the button, WordPress will generate a 24-character password. Copy this password and paste it into our tool.
Important Note:
This password will only be displayed once. If you leave this page, you will not be able to view it again. Therefore, be sure to copy and save it immediately.
Things to Know
- This password cannot be used to log in to the WordPress admin dashboard.
- It can only be used with the specific application you've granted access to.
- You can delete the Application Password at any time from your Profile page.
